FAR-West established the Janet Dukes Memorial Fund in memory of former President of the FAR-West Board of Directors and longtime supporter of the folk community, Janet Dukes (12/10/58 - 7/13/21).

Throughout her association with and leadership of FAR-West, Janet Dukes was a strong advocate for venues and artists in every town and community across the vast West. She became involved with FAR-West in 2005. Prior to joining the FAR-West Board, she assisted Cindy Bottomley with conference registration, and for many conference attendees, Janet was the first person to greet them and last person to say goodbye. She served on the FAR-West Board in 2013 as registrar, Secretary from 2014-17, as Conference Co-Coordinator in 2017 for the conference in Bellevue, WA, and as Board President in 2018 and 2019.

In the spirit of Janet Dukes's hard work and kindness that was part of the foundation of FAR-West's past successes and inspiration for the future, the Janet Dukes 365 Memorial Fund supports programming and tools for year-round support of our members' professional development and collective cultural contributions to the communities where they live and serve.
