HELP FAR-West THRIVE!
Where Your Donation Goes
FAR-West is a nonprofit 501(c)3, volunteer-run organization. Our work is only possible through the generosity of supporters like you who are passionate about preserving folk and roots music history and who value the work of contemporary music makers, and arts professionals who breathe life into the present and future of the craft.
Your general fund donations allows the board of directors to use the funds in the area of greatest need.. You also have the opportunity to direct your donation to a FAR-West specialized fund. These funds assist individuals and the organization with program development, education, outreach, and conference attendance.
Support the FAR-West General Fund
FAR-West operates a significant and growing number of programs, and strives to offer them at the lowest possible cost -- often, free. Yet FAR-West has expenses such as software, insurance, bank fees, and needs to keep a reserve to assure we can always pay our bills. Generous donors to the General Fund make all our programs possible.
YES, WE STILL TAKE CHECKS!
We will gladly accept your donation by check. Please make out the check to FAR-West and send it to:

Larman Scholarship Fund
The Roz & Howard Larman Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by an anonymous donor in memory of Howard and Roz after their passing in 2007 and in 2016, respectively. Roz and Howard Larman hosted their Pacifica radio show, Folkscene, for over 40 years, and it continues on today in the care of their son, Allen Larman, and Peter Cutler.
Outreach, Diversity, and Education (O.D.E.) Conference Fund
This fund is part of an equity initiative to increase access to FAR-West’s annual conference to underrepresented individuals, folk leaders, cultural groups and other culture bearers as well as to increase the educational value of conference programs.
ODE funding provides means to welcome new participants and master educators to the conference and to intentionally add opportunities that reflect the needs and interests of a more diverse community.
Best of the West Fund
The Best of The West Award was established in 2005 and presented at the Best of The West luncheon at FAR-West’s annual conference. Donations to the Best of the West fund assist with hospitality and other costs associated with hosting honorees at the annual conference.
