THE FOLK ALLIANCE FAMILY

Folk Alliance International (FAI) is an international arts nonprofit founded in 1989 to connect folk music leaders aiming to sustain the community and genre worldwide. FAI offers year-round resources and holds an annual conference that brings together 3,000 members of the folk community and features showcases, educational panels and workshops, networking, and more.

Including FAR-West, FAI has six affiliates, five in North America and one in Denmark, that represent FAI’s members in their respective regions. While FAI provides governance and administrative support, the affiliates operate with their own boards, producing their own year-round content and annual events.
