Folk Alliance Region West (FAR-West), a community based non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, is the western regional chapter of Folk Alliance International.

FAR-West exists to preserve, promote, develop and celebrate the diverse heritage of roots and indigenous music, dance, storytelling and related arts in the western United States and Canada.  Our organization is open to artists, presenters and music supporters.  Embracing the folk and acoustic roots ecosystem of the North American west, we welcome a wide variety of styles, levels, and disciplines, and encourage cultural diversity, musical excellence, and artistic expression.

• Canada: Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, and Northwest Territories

Since 2003, FAR-West has produced an annual conference and since 2020, year-round programming to promote and support community connection, musical and cultural diversity, and professional growth within the contemporary and traditional folk music, storytelling, and dance communities of the North American West.
