FAR-WEST VIRTUALLY at the FAI CONFERENCE ~ MONDAY-THURSDAY, FEB 22-25, 2021

FOLK ALLIANCE REGION – WEST (FAR-WEST) VIRTUALLY AT THE FAI (FOLK ALLIANCE) CONFERENCE ~ MONDAY-THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22-25, 2021

Watch the full re-broadcast playlist of
FAR-West’s Folk Unlocked here.

As winter storms blanket parts of the country in snow and ice, many in the FAR-West Region have been reminiscing about the warmth of hanging out together when our community gathered at the annual Folk Alliance International (FAI) conference; live and in person.

The Covid pandemic has changed all of that and some may see a silver lining! This year’s conference will be totally virtual and jam-packed with more music than any in-person conference could hold. And there’s absolutely no chance of coming home with a bad case of the “folkie flu”!

FAR-West will take part in several programs during the Conference, The Regionals’ Spotlight Showcase featuring Petty Chavez, 3 nights of Unlocked Showcases and a virtual Networking Center booth with FAR-West board members.

  • FAI REGIONS SPOTLIGHT SHOWCASE:
All 5 of the Folk Alliance International regions curated the REGIONS SPOTLIGHT SHOWCASE, presenting artists that best represent their region. FAR-West will showcase a great acoustic duo that spotlights the best of what FAR-West has to offer: Petty Chavez.
Their unique sound, amazing harmonies and rich blends of diverse influences create a perfect reflection of their very different voices and backgrounds. The other fabulous four artists/groups consist of Alisa Amador/NERFA, The Wildmans/SERFA, The Accidentals/FARM, Amanda Pascali/SWRFA.
