Shoutout to the music community! Let us hear from you! Lockdown Lemonade has been honored to be posting stories of survival, tips for getting through these challenging times and ALL kinds of ways to make lemonade out of the lemons we’ve been handed during the pandemic. We are always on the lookout for more material to share with the community.
Type up your thoughts & feelings, share some laughs you’ve had, some tears you’ve shed, but most of all, let your community know how YOU’VE learned to make your very special brand of lemonade.
Submissions should be 300 words and will be posted based on approval from the Lockdown Lemonade Committee, who might also do a little editing and/or tweaking to help your work to look its best. For guidelines, questions and other submission details, please contact Julie Zipperer at juliez@far-west.org or Marlynn Block at marlynn@far-west.org
The archive of Roots Music & Beyond with Art Podell Presenting Some of the Best Voices of the FAR-West is now available to listen to at https://www.kpfk.org/archives/ until the end of April.
Go to the archive link and scroll down to Saturday, April 17th and then “Roots Music & Beyond” and press ‘play’.
Note from Art Podell: Here’s my show…pardon the slight ‘kerfuffle’ at the beginning. The radio gremlins mistook segment 3 for segment 1, then … substituted … but all was fixed despite my moment of panic. Y’know, I could get used to the adrenaline rush. As they say: “you put your right foot in, you take your right foot out … shinola happens, etc.

We are creating a “FAR-West New Releases” Spotify playlist to showcase our members who have recent commercially released music. We want to celebrate your new music too!

- That’s it! Look for the direct link to the “FAR-West New Releases” Spotify Playlist once it’s published.
