This Memorial Day weekend is the 50th Anniversary of Northwest Folklife, the all engaging, volunteer based major folk arts event in Seattle. Since 1971, Northwest Folklife’s work has centered on preserving cultural arts, bridging connections to heritage and identity, and cultivating the ever-evolving traditions of the Pacific Northwest.
Many FAR-West members and officers have been participants for decades. This year, all folk arts lovers throughout the Western States and beyond can participate in a virtual event. If you live outside the Puget Sound region and have never had a chance to experience Northwest Folklife, this year is your year to jump in.
