Folk Alliance Region West (FAR-West) is the West-coast regional arm of
Folk Alliance International.
FAR-West is a 501(c)3 non profit organization incorporated in the State of California in 2003.
The organization is run entirely by volunteers; there are no paid staff members.
FAR-West exists to foster and promote traditional, contemporary and multicultural folk music, dance and related performing
arts in the Western states. The primary way we meet this mission is to present our annual FAR-West Conference each fall,
one of many regional Folk Alliance Conferences.
The annual FAR-West conference provides a three-day, music-filled weekend for the folk and acoustic music community to
unite, exchange songs and ideas, re-charge and do business.
The goal of FAR-West is to strengthen the folk and acoustic
music community and facilitate networking, with a program that includes educational panels, workshops and master classes,
a contra and other dance events, interaction within our community and juried artist showcases as well as private showcases
in which concert programmers, venue presenters, house concert hosts and radio programmers can experience the live
performances of a wide variety of prospective artists.
Please explore our Web site to find out more about this year's conference and how you can get involved.
